AMWAY (M) Holdings Bhd, a major beneficiary from the stronger ringgit, is poised for a re-rating on improved earnings outlook, backed by an above-average dividend payout.

“We estimate that a 4% appreciation of the ringgit to 3.65 (against the US dollar) could potentially boost Amway’s FY06 net earnings by 16%,” Mayban Securities told clients in its research update yesterday.

Amway (Malaysia) Holdings Bhd’s net profit dropped 6.7% from a year earlier to RM12.4 million for its third quarter ended May 31, 2005, it said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia on July 26.

Revenue for the quarter under review rose 5.6% from a year earlier to RM129.9 million, due to increased productivity among distributors.
