Procter And Gamble Steps Up Pressure On Ex-Amway Distributors

Procter & Gamble is giving Amway distributors hell for trying to overturn a multimillion-dollar jury verdict against them for spreading the false rumor that the household-products giant supported a satanic church.

P&G has filed a brief opposing the distributors' request for an investigation into possible jury misconduct. The company argues there is no evidence of wrongdoing by the panel and that court rules prohibit questioning jurors about their deliberations.

No New Bid For MLM Company Herbalife

Looks like the "on-off" takeover for MLM company Herbalife has been resolved...

Herbalife stock tumbled on Monday after the company ended sale talks with its largest shareholder.

Shares of Herbalife were down $1.79, or 4.4%, to $38.48 in midday trading, after the maker of weight-management and nutrition products halted discussions between its board of directors and Whitney V., L.P. In early February, Whitney extended an all-cash offer of $38 per share to the company.

Whitney V LP, the largest shareholder of Herbalife Ltd., is in talks with the nutritional and diet supplement company to raise its previously withdrawn cash buyout offer, according to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
