Update On Direct Selling Market In India

The still nascent domestic direct selling market gradually seems to be taking off, with the industry posting a growth of 18 per cent in the last year.
According to the Indian Direct Selling Association, the turnover for 2004-05 was about Rs 2,700 crore with the growth rate being sustainable at this point.
At present, the majority of products sold through this route are from the home and personal care segment, largely because customers prefer personalised suggestions on what products would specifically suit them.

Update On MLM Company Amway's Operations In India

Direct selling FMCG and MLM company, Amway India on Tuesday said it expects a nine per cent rise in its full year turnover from Rs 633 crore posted in 2005.

On the sidelines of Amway announcing the extension of its Personal Care range, William S Pinckney, Managing Director and CEO, told reporters that the nutrition, Health and Beauty products have overtaken the cleaning products in a 3:1 ratio in terms of revenue contribution, he said.

MLM company Herbalife Ltd. solidifies its presence on the global sporting landscape with a two-year sponsorship deal as exclusive nutritional supplement of "Circuito de Carreras Emocion Deportiva" presented by HSBC. The agreement marks the company's first sports sponsorship in Mexico.

"Circuito de Carreras Emocion Deportiva," Mexico's leading running circuit, is comprised of eleven races, including the world-renowned International Mexico City Marathon.
